Master of Business Administration

The main objective of this course is to prepare the executives and managers for top level and middle level management in public and private sector organization. The emphasis will therefore, be on developing a proper role perception of managerial level personnel in the local context by exposing them to a wide range of relevant areas, sufficiently in depth so that they may gain the confidence necessary to interact with people at all levels and develop managerial skills for translating polices into action effectively.

Students will be provided with general training in cross-organizational perspectives of business and a selection of eleven specialization choices related to career orientated management areas. They are as follows:

The educational aims of the programme are:
1. To develop students into professional managers to manage all sectors of the organized economic activity.
2. To equip the students with conceptual and interpersonal skills and social purpose for managerial decision-making and its execution in real situations.
3. To develop and encourage the managerial and leadership capabilities of students to make them effective change agents.
4. To meet the demand for trained and professional people at the top level management of business and service-orientated organizations.

ENTRY QUALIFCATIONS

The programme is open to candidates with a variety of background and interests in either general or specific management functional areas. However, prospective candidates must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
• Must have a first or second class honours from a recognized university/higher learning institute.
• Applicants holding a pass degree may be considered for admission, if: The GPA is not below 2.5; and have satisfied the SODEESA of their academic potential through GMAT, its equivalent or additional training at postgraduate diploma level and approved by the SODEESA Board.
